We Did It...Finally!

AJ and I started looking for homes to buy, early in 2011. We searched, researched, toured, and re-toured several houses. One day our realtor was showing us an awful house (nothing like we wanted at all) he said there is this house that just went back on the market today, but he was not sure if he could show it to us yet. After a few phone calls, we were allowed to go see the house. This was it!!! Everyone always said you feel it when you walk into the house that is right for you and this was just that. We fell in love with it :)

So it was time for the next step. Putting in an offer.

This process was, in a way, simple because it was a short sale that was tied up in bankruptcy court. I say simple because there was no negotiating to be done, it was a set price and "as is". Although that part was simple...the waiting wasn't. Because it was tied up in bankruptcy court...three different trustees had to sign off on the sale of the property. After about 2 months in limbo, we finally got the yes we were hoping for!

We closed on the house July 8th and moved in just 3 days later. The house is a 1954 ranch style home that has been mostly upgraded. The home was originally 3 bedrooms/1 bath!!! I could not imagine having only one small bathroom for a whole fam...luckily the previous owners built on a master bath suit which is amazing (heated tile floors, walk in spa shower, heated towel rack and garden tub)! In addition to adding a bathroom, they fully upgraded the kitchen, added a pantry and closed in the garage. We are very excited to pick up where they left off and make this house our home:)
